Evil Boys

Apparently, three Sick Boys weren't enough. So I went straight on to the Evil ones. Evil Boys is Book 2 in Clarissa Wild's Spine Ridge University series, this time following Felix's sister Lana and another trio of completely unhinged men. And yes, the basic setup is familiar: three dangerous boys, one fierce FMC, Reverse Harem, and a university where apparently nobody believes in making sensible life choices. And somehow? It works just as well the second time. As an author, I find that particularly impressive. Repeating a successful concept without making the next book feel like a copy is difficult. Clarissa keeps the same intensity and addictive group dynamic, while giving Lana and her three men their own identity. And Lana? I might actually find her even feistier than Penelope. She doesn't simply survive the chaos around her. She meets it head-on, which makes the constant battle of personalities ridiculously entertaining. The plot felt slightly less complex to me than in Sick Boys, but it is still suspenseful and wonderfully unpredictable. And what it loses in complexity, Clarissa more than compensates for with the spice. It is dark, intense, creative, and incredibly addictive. The intimate scenes never feel like repetitions of each other, and the intensity keeps escalating throughout the book. Degradation is once again part of the sexual dynamic, but importantly, it is consensual within the relationship. Definitely check the trigger warnings, because this won't be everyone's kind of spice. What continues to impress me about this series is Clarissa Wild's ability to make characters this morally questionable so ridiculously entertaining to follow. The men are completely messed up, Lana can absolutely hold her own among them, and somehow you end up wanting more of all four. The ending sealed it for me. I finished Evil Boys and immediately started Book 3. I think that says everything. If Reverse Harem is your weakness and you like your romances dark, intense, unpredictable, and just the right amount of unhinged, Spine Ridge University is becoming dangerously addictive
